Practice day: Friday, June 4

Contest Days: Saturday & Sunday, June 5 & 6

The Whittier Narrows field will be

CLOSED to all other flying.

Steve Lopez has advised us that the pylon races scheduled for the weekend of May 15 and 16 has been canceled. There will be now open flying on that weekend. Gather your planes and cone on out!

The field will be close Sunday, May 1 for celebration of Cinco de Mayo.

Our next races will be held on May 14th through 16th

Friday May 14 is a practice day.
One race on Saturday May 15, and one race on Sunday May 16.

Classes racing will be:
Q40
Q500
APRA

A new FDC NOTAM/TFR has been issued for the greater Los Angeles, CA area beginning Monday, 4/19, at 5:01p until 11:00a PDT, Tuesday, 4/20. The TFR is issued for security purposes to cover VIP movement in this area. Model aircraft operations are prohibited in this area during the specific times of the TFR. Please note that TFRs are subject to change with very short notice. Check back often for the most current NOTAM/TFR information.

Notice from AMA. Here we go again. I haven’t tried to figure out our
involvement with the map. Somebody who knows how to read maps check it
out please!

So without checking the map link it looks like the field will be closed
from 5 PM this coming Mon until the next day, Tues at 11 AM. The Tues AM
flyers get to sleep in late! But! Wouldn’t it be a good time to do some
work around the field?? Yeah!!

When: March 13^th and 14^th , (1/2 day practice, Friday, March 12^th ).
Please be courteous to sport flyers on Friday and share the field.
Where: Whittier Narrows Regional Park
Exit north on Rosemead Blvd off the 60 Fwy, Turn left into the park approx ¼ mile from the Fwy.
You must show your AMA card at the gate or be charged an entrance fee.
Classes: 424, (APRA) and 428. Flown on 2.5 mile course.
Format: Two one day races, with 424 and 428 flown each day.
MAXIMUM OF 3 PER FREQUENCY/GROUP (IN EACH CLASS).
Entry Fee: $25.00 per class per day.
You must show proof of AMA at sign up on Saturday and Sunday, NO EXCEPTIONS !
Pre-registration is required.  Email Dave Gavin: dgavin9448@aol.com with your info.
Late registration and inspection will close at 8:30 am Saturday and Sunday.
Pilots meeting at 8:30 am, First race begins at 9:00 am sharp.
NO PRACTICE SATURDAY OR SUNDAY UNLESS YOU HAVE REGISTERED !

It’s club membership renewal time again. Click on the following link to download a PDF Membership Application. An application was also included at the end of the November newsletter for your convenience, and two emails have been sent to those of you who have not renewed. You can mail it back in or bring it with you to the March 23rd club meeting.

On your newsletter mailing label will indicate if you have renewed already (2010) or not (2009.) The renewal fees are $30 for a paper version of the newsletter mailed to you, or $20 for the electronic version emailed to you as a PDF file, and you print it out for yourself.
